Too Hot to Function? Start Here

The summer aesthetic looks cute on Instagram, but we all know that when we go outdoors, we are already sweating and regretting it within minutes. The heat has the power to drain you and everything starts to feel like a lot of effort.

The good news is that a few small changes can make summer a lot more manageable, from the clothes you wear to staying hydrated throughout the day.

So, instead of pretending we are loving summer, here is what actually helps beat this heat.

WEAR CLOTHES THAT LET YOUR BREATHE

Stop wearing polyester in peak summer season. Switch to cottons, linens and stay cool this summer with our most loved styles. Also, breathable fabrics like khadi and lyocell are great choices for Indian summers and humid weather, helping you stay comfortable. Stick to lighter colours, as darker shades tend to absorb heat and feel warmer.

    HYDRATION ESSENTIALS

Water is important, but keeping track of your daily intake can feel like a chore.

If plain water is not exciting enough, try coconut water, nimbu paani and electrolyte drinks that also act as Vitamin C boosters. Don’t forget to add water-rich fruits like watermelon and cucumber to your diet.

Also, carry a reusable water bottle. If it's already in your bag, you will end up drinking more water without thinking about it.

    SKIN RESET

Sweat and pollution can take a toll on your skin. This is simply not the season for a complicated routine. A gentle cleanser, a light moisturiser and sunscreen are usually enough.

If you tend to get sweaty during the day, a talc-free powder can help. Our preference? An aluminum free antiperspirant that feels less heavy. Try not to layer too many products because that can sometimes lead to irritated skin, redness and discomfort.

Follow our summer-friendly skincare routine to keep your skin hydrated and glowing

    THINGS TO USE

Cloth tote bag: Ideal to carry around your daily necessities like a travel coffee mug for refills, SPF 50 sunscreen and lip balm for quickly chapped lips.

Cap, scarf and bucket hat: These protect your face and hair from direct sun exposure.

Sunglasses: Style statement aside, helps reduce eye strain and discomfort in bright sunlight.

Handheld fans: Useful when you are commuting, waiting outdoors or attending concerts in this heat.
